Accessorizer, créez un DA pour toute appli., version 0.90 BETA, du quasi multi-tache ! Options

Attention; ce sujet doit avoir une drôle de tête. L'auteur de ce soft sort 1 à 2 versions par jour. J'ai un peu de mal à suivre. Remarquez qu'au moins, il est réactif !

A quoi ça sert ?
A simuler (*) le multitache.
Permet d'ouvrir une application par dessus une autre, de refermer cette deuxième application et de retrouver votre application là où vous l'avez laissée.
Rappel: normalement pour ouvrir une application, il faut fermer l'appli précédente et donc perdre l'endroit où vous étiez. (clair comme du jus de boudin mon explication)

Comment ça marche ?

-téléchargez accessorizer.
-Ouvrez le zip
- lisez le read-me (si, pour une fois)
-installez accessorizer.prc
-Synchronisez
-retour « maison », ouvrez accessorizer, un peu lent à l'ouverture.
- si une appli n'est pas dans la liste, c'est parce qu'Accessorizer ne peut pas créer de DA pour elle, ou que ce DA a déjà, été crée.
-Cliquez sur l'appli pour laquelle vous voulez créer un DA
-Cliquez sur « generate », rien n'apparait. C'est normal
-Lancez votre Dalauncher, tiens y a un nouveau truc ! Exemple, vous avez cliqué sur « bigClock », il y a un nouveau DA nommé « BigClockDA », amusant, non ?
-Cliquez sur « BigClockDA », l'appli s'ouvre, faites y ce que vous voulez.
-Sur un UX, j'appuie sur le bouton « back » pour retourner dans l'appli où j'étais, à l'endroit où j'étais
-Sur un Palm sans clavier, je pense qu'un trait droite/gauche doit avoir le même effet. Certains font un clic sur l'icone "maison". E.T. téléphone maison !

Si vous avez l'habitude des DA, vous allez être surpris.
Généralement, les Das s'ouvrent dans une petite fenêtre, pas là. Vous ouvez vraiment l'appli visée.


Tout, ou presque, sur les DA. Si vous ignorez tout de ces petites applications nommées DA = desktop accessory = Desk Accessory. Commencez par visiter ce sujet.

- DAlauncher5.

Accessorizer is a unique utility that takes almost
any application or control panel and creates a
Desk Accessory (DA) that launches it on top of the
current application (and lets you come back to it
when done), assuming you have enough memory.

Accessorizer works only on PalmOS 5.

A DA is a special applet that can be run on top of
another application, by use of a DA launcher. The nice
thing about a DA is that it doesn't force you to exit
your previous application. Thus, a notepad DA would let
you make notes while inside a web browser, and then come
right back to the web browser. There are a lot of DAs
that do lots of things, but DA afficionados always want
more, and Accessorizer can do such things as produce a
DA to calibrate your digitizer (just generate a DA for
the Digitizer control panel), view your contacts (just
generate a DA for your Contacts application), and so on.

For the DAs created by accessorizer to function, the
Accessorizer application needs to be installed.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install Accessorizer.prc.
2. Run Accessorizer. There may be a lengthy pause
when you first run it, and a somewhat shorter one
when you generate a DA.
3. Select an application.
4. Press "Generate".
5. Install your new DA in your DA launcher.

If an application does not show up in the list, that's
because either Accessorizer can't create a DA for it,
or it has already created a DA for it.

Note that you need to have sufficient memory to launch
one application on top of another. Not all applications
will be compatible.


REMOVING Accessorizer FROM YOUR PDA

The first time your run an accessorized application, some support
code gets loaded in memory. This must be unloaded before
uninstalling.

To remove Accessorizer, first do a soft reset (push the
reset button on the back). Then you will be able to delete
Accessorizer in your Launcher.

Alternately, just run Accessorizer and choose the "Uninstall"
option from its menu.


UPDATING Accessorizer TO A NEW VERSION

To update Accessorizer, either first remove it and install
a new version, or more simply, do a soft reset and then
install the new version (without running any accessorized
application before installing the new version).



If you don't have a Desk Accessory launcher, DALauncher is a free one.
Search the web for it. McPhling (search the web) is an excellent
quick-launcher and you can put Desk Accessories into its favorites list.

If you have a T3/T5/TX/LifeDrive, you can use myKbd or mySkin (search the
web) to set up Desk Accessory launching in multiple ways. Note that myKbd
and mySkin are shareware programs, but the macro and favorites functions
are free, i.e., they will work even after myKbd and mySkin expire, and hence
it is not necessary to purchase myKbd or mySkin. On the Palm TX,
you can turn on "home button" support by using Options dialog (tap on
the wrench), which will give you a home button on the statusbar. Holding
it down gives you a recent and quick launch list. You can add PrintIt
to that list by using Options | Favorites. Alternately, on each of the four
devices you can use the macro facility to assign PrintIt to a short or long
press of one of the four application keys on the front of your PDA. To do
this, go to the Options | Macros menu, tap on the field after "Macro key",
and press quickly or hold (1 sec) the key you want to define. Tap on the
"Macro text" field, and choose "Run..." from the drop-down list (you can
also choose "Recent and favorites" to get a list of recent and favorites
whenever you press the key; then you can add your DA to the list) and
then choose the DA. Then to trigger the DA, just press or hold the key
you assigned it to.


SUGGESTIONS

You might want to download MetaDA from Palmgear.com. MetaDA is a DA that
pops up a list of all your other DAs. This way, all you need to do is to
assign MetaDA to an action or put it in a favorites list, and you can
then access all your other DAs.

Some applications that it might be nice to Accessorize include:
- Calendar
- Tasks
- Contacts
- Calc
- Digitizer

Avez-vous testé accessorizer ? Je suppose que les habitués du forum 1src l'ont déjà repéré. Il permet de créer un DA à partir de n'importe quelle application ! Il est en version alpha, un bon programme de backup est indispensable au cas où il fasse planter le palm. Je suppose que c'est pour ça qu'on en a pas encore parlé ici (où j'ai loupé ma recherche) ? D'habitude les programmes de 1SRC arrivent ici en quelques heures, donc je laisse le plaisir de leur annonce aux spécialistes, mais là ça date du 23 février...

J'ai fait un petit test :
J'ai créé un DA avec Agendus, qui s'appelle ActionnamesDA. Ce DA se lance par un appui prolongé sur le hard button home (grâce à une macro Mykbd).
Je lance Tomtom (pourquoi faire petit ?), naviguer vers, adresse, paris... et là je dois chercher une adresse dans Agendus. Donc je lance AgendusDA, fait une recherche pour mon adresse, la trouve, je la retiens (tomtom ne permet pas le copier/coller) et un appui sur Home me fait revenir là où j'étais dans Tomtom, je peux taper mon adresse et je trouve mon itinéraire.

Le développeur (Pruss) prévient qu'il faut suffisamment de mémoire pour lancer le DA, mais si ça marche avec Tomtom et Agendus, il va être difficile d'atteindre les limites...

On se rapproche du multitâches, non (même si ça reste un artifice) ?

N'oubliez pas qu'il s'agit d'une version alpha !! Edition du 06 mars: la V.0.12 est une beta.
Généralement, ça fonctionne. Parfois, ça vous modifie l'appli en toile de fond. Parfois ça ne marche pas. Parfois ça plante.
Parfois des soucis, connus, avec les applications utilisant des font/polices spéciales. FontSmoother, calc. Avec Accessorizer V0.0.6
Pas de plantage grave, j'ai vu pire avec des version définitives de certains softs.

Je n'ai rien à voir dans ce sujet. C'est Thierry (superDupont) qui en a parlé dans le sujet sur les DA.
Je suis une grosse feignasse qui n'avait aucune envie de se taper un alpha-test et qui attendait une version définitive.

J'ai bien la ferme intention de continuer à poster des threads dont tout le monde se cogne !

Utiliser un soft permettant des restauration application par application.
Sauvegarder sur carte mémoire.
Faire une sauvegarde AVANT d'utiliser Accessorizer.

C'est vraiment dingue ce machin. je viens de tester avec Agendus et Tomtom et .... ça marche !!

'a pas trop compris l'utilité dans ce cas précis... TomTom pouvant aller se servir lui-même dans le carnet d'adresse du Palm, je ne vois pas trop quel besoin il y a d'aller consulter Agendus ou autre logiciel d'adresses...

Par contre ce DA me paraît assez génial pour tout un tas d'autres applications qui nécessiteraient une consultation dans un autre logiciel.
